Boom Boom's Back

It’s not much of a surprise but Shahid Afridi has decided to come back from his conditional retirement. The flamboyant all-rounder last month had said that he’ll be making a very ‘crucial’ decision about his carrier making most of his fans’ hearts jump to their throats. But he had also killed the surprise for most of us. Because we all knew that the great Ijaz Butt (the guy’s a freaking mountain) was near the termination of his tenure and it was obvious that Afridi wanted to wait before he finally went bye-bye. Afridi fans are ecstatic that he’s back and while he was away, BOOM BOOM didn’t disappoint his fans with his performances in county cricket and last week, a Pakistani team comprising of Abdul Razzaq, Shoaib Akhter, Azhar Mahmood and guest player Jason Roy won the inaugural Titans Of Cricket Challenge which was all about a cricketer’s skills in all the three departments.
Afridi had retired because he had problems with Coach Waqar Younis and Ijaz Butt who both turned a deaf ear to him. This was a conditional retirement because he had openly announced that as long as Waqar Younis and Ijaz Butt were in the management, he will not play cricket for Pakistan. So, lucky for Afridi all the hindrances in his way are gone now. Let’s just hope he’s selected back in the team as quickly as possible without any further drama and perform to his best in the series against Sri Lanka and England. Because we all know that when a Pakistani player of Afridi’s caliber makes a comeback, he comes with a BANG; in his case, it’ll be a BOOM and another BOOM.
